3 Beautiful Girls

This is a picture of my wife oldest daughter and granddaughter. I was trying out my new Litesoft flash modifier and it worked great. I literally shot the flash backwards and bouncing off the walls and ceiling it gave me this beautiful lighting.

Erie Moon Shot

Yesterday morning about 6:30am I took this shot of a full moon. Pretty scarey looking almost like a werewolf is lurking out there somewhere.

Grandkids At Christmas

Here's our Grandkids Christmas morning, it's not often we have them altogether like this. Even baby Weston is Noni's arms on the couch eating. Yeah, that makes eight.

Litesoft Modifier

Well, I took a couple of pictures of the large version of my Litesoft modifier. It really scatters the light making pictures evenly lit, even in a large room. I can't get over how much it throws light up and forward showering the room with light. so far all the testing I have done is positive, of course it's not a end all do all device, but it is the answer for a lot of small speed lights that everyone has so much trouble with. Even when it's turned vertical you don't have harsh shadows unless your subject is close to a wall or something close behind them. It's so light you don't even know it's on the camera, and it lays flat for storage. It's kind of like Gary Fongs Lightshere, except you don't lose the power throwing light all over the room, I own 3 Lightsheres and a Whaletail from Gary and they do work. My Litesoft directs light forward, but evenly keeping the power where your shooting. You can turn it to the side and direct the light anywhere you want and because of the black on the back you can use it to throw light where you need it without much spill. I think the craziest thing is when you turn it backwards, you can bounce it off the ceiling and wall or whatever behind you and the pictures come out amazing. I have to get the tech stuff why they come out that way then I'll post it, but I'm excited about what I'm seeing it's very cool. What a cool thing for a wedding in the house or a small room, I won't have to shoot them in the eyes directly. A good thing if your a bride getting flashed hundreds of times in a few hours.

New to blogging

Well, as you can see I posted a number of blog postings today mainly because it's the first time I've used my blog. I can see how it would be addictive, so I guess I'm trying it out and catching up with everything at the same time. It's kind of fun, but I'm still not sure how to get it out to everyone I know. Maybe I'll be the only one reading it, kind of like talking to myself haha. You know what they say about talking to yourself, as long as you don't answer it's okay. It feels like Facebook only cooler because I'm in control of the whole thing.

Pastor Joseph Prince

I have to say that I am very inspired by pastor Prince and his message of Grace. After all the preaching and books and any other teachings I could get my hands on over the past 40 years I have to admit that I have never heard such a great message or good news (thats what the word is) from the teachings of Pauls message on Grace. I thought that I had heard everything about Grace, but not the way he preaches it. It opened my eyes to the real Jesus not the one I was thought about when I was younger, you know the God that's going to punish you for every wrong move you make. It's great to hear that He's already punished Jesus on the cross for everything I ever did or ever will do in my life, and if I'm in Him I'm accepted into HIs kingdom.
Not only that, but here on earth He's paid for my sin, sickness and any other bad thing I would face. Glory to His holy name, Jesus is Lord! www.josephprince.org

Litesoft Flash Modifier

This is my grandson Weston, I took these pictures with the Litesoft large. I came up with a light modifier that works better than all the other ones I have bought over the years. I got ideas from other photo sites and came up with my own design and it works great. I tried 10 or 12 diferent designs and came up with 3 different size reflector modifiers. Then I had to figure out how to attach it to the flash, so they can be used vertical or horizontal, I got that down so it's all good. They are super light and lay flat for easy storage in your camera bag. I've tested them with my 580ex flashes and am getting great f/stops at 100 iso with my flash meter, using other light modifiers I have bought and paid dearly for, I never could use anything lower than 400 and that was pushing it. After checking the pictures in Lightroom and Photoshop, they work fantastic. They work so well I'm thinking about selling them. I wouldn't charge much for them, it would most likely be cheaper than making one yourself. More to come on this in about a week or so.

Emliy and Becca's visit

Emily and Becca visited us last weekend here's a couple pictures from there visit. We don't get to see them much after Dan and Kali split up. They live so far away it's hard for us to see them on a regular basis. Grandchildren are a blessing, but also a concern for their well being. We love them and miss them a lot.
